NSW Small & Medium Business Battery Rebate – BESS4

From 1 September 2026, eligible NSW small and medium businesses can access incentives under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme for qualifying battery installations.

Is my business eligible?

BESS4 covers batteries with usable capacity greater than 20 kWh and up to 200 kWh, where the battery is not installed in a residential building or data centre. The battery and installer must also satisfy the applicable scheme requirements.

Minimum customer payment of $5,000 per implementation.

  • Approved battery and accredited installer

Approvals & start date

  • Network connection approval
  • Accredited Certificate Provider engagement
  • Activity commences 1 September 2026
